Forged Carbon Fiber Composite is a material composed of small pieces of carbon fiber that are pressed into shape as the resin cures. The material is one-third as dense as metal titanium but stronger. It consists of chopped carbon fiber tows that are sandwiched between two layers of filmed resin.
Our Center Console Overlay comes with a key card location made from Real Forged Carbon Fiber. It is contoured to fit perfectly as shown in our demo video.
This real forged carbon fiber is rigid, so it conforms around all the edges and fits over your existing center console pieces. It is not a flexible urethane coated type, not a vinyl decal, not a sticker, nor a printed carbon fiber top coat. It is nothing but real forged carbon fiber. The fit is fantastic and installs in less than 5 minutes.
Finishes: The first is a glossy finish, also known as a wet look. The glossy finish looks the most three dimensional and the pattern of the carbon fiber looks the deepest. The second is a matte finish, also known as a dry look. With matte there is less glare and reflection, but also less depth. They both look OEM, as the surface of the center console is raised 0.5 mm's, making it flush all the way across.
